When does an interview count toward my plan?

For a counted invitation, one interview counts when the candidate first starts the live session.

What uses an interview

  • Sending or opening an invitation uses nothing.
  • Resending the same invitation uses nothing.
  • For a counted invitation, the candidate's first live Start uses one interview.
  • Rejoining that same interview does not use another, even after a connection problem.
  • If a counted interview has started, it still counts when the candidate leaves before finishing.
  • Retry creates a fresh invitation after an unfinished attempt. If that new invitation is counted, its first Start uses another interview.
  • A session using an active workspace member's verified email may be uncounted while the workspace's test-session allowance is available.

During the free trial

  • The trial includes 25 counted interviews, with no card.
  • Set up at your own pace. Your 30 days begin when your first candidate completes an interview.
  • Starts made before that count against the same 25. Starting the clock does not reset the allowance.
  • Test interviews on your own team's addresses never begin the 30 days, even once the test-session allowance is used and the start is counted.
  • Once the 25 are used, new counted interviews are refused; once the 30 days end, no new interview can start. Already-started interviews can finish within their existing recovery window.

The Interview quota card shows how many interviews your workspace has used and how many remain — for the trial that is the whole 25, and on a paid plan it is the current cycle. When none remain, new counted starts are refused and candidates see a neutral notice.

This rule is tied to invitation starts, not completed scorecards. See when to resend, retry, or revoke before giving an unfinished candidate another attempt. You can also review how pausing or archiving affects new starts.
