Unreviewed draft. Not legal advice, and not binding on anyone.
This page was written from what the Kira-AI product actually does in code, so that a lawyer has an accurate starting point instead of a blank page. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Do not rely on it, do not sign anything on the strength of it, and expect the wording to change. Highlighted ▲ to supply markers are facts we could not confirm and have not invented.

Cookie policy
This website sets no cookies and shows no cookie banner, because there is nothing to consent to. The application you sign in to sets four, and this page lists every one of them.

This website sets no cookies
Not “no third-party cookies”, and not “only essential cookies”. None. There is nothing to accept, so there is no cookie banner.
That is a design decision rather than an accident, and it holds because of what is missing from this site:
- No analytics. No Google Analytics, no Plausible, no PostHog, no page-view counter of any kind. We do not know you were here.
- No advertising or remarketing tags, no conversion pixels, no tag manager.
- No session replay and no heatmaps.
- No embedded third-party content that would set cookies of its own.
- No language cookie. The language comes from the address of the page you are reading, and nothing is stored to remember it.
- No web fonts loaded from anyone else. The two typefaces are built into the site, so your browser never contacts a font service.
The site does not use local storage or session storage either. Our hosting provider keeps ordinary server logs, which contain IP addresses, as any web server does.
02
The Kira-AI app
The application at app.getkira.com is a different matter: you sign in to it, so it has to remember that you did. It sets four cookies. All four are strictly necessary or a plain interface preference, none is used for tracking or advertising, and none is set by a third party.
| Cookie | What it is for | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
| Sign-in session | Keeps you signed in. Set by our authentication provider, and not readable by scripts in your browser | Until you sign out or it expires |
| kira_workspace | Remembers which workspace you are working in, when you belong to more than one. Not readable by scripts | Session |
| kira_candidate_capability | For candidates only. Holds the key that lets you return to your own interview if you close the tab or lose connection. Limited to the interview pages and not readable by scripts | 30 days |
| kira-sidebar, kira-review-queue | Remembers whether you collapsed the sidebar or the review queue. Nothing else | 1 year |
The app also uses your browser’s local storage to remember your theme choice and any filters you saved on a list. That never leaves your browser.
None of these require consent under the ePrivacy rules: the first three are necessary to deliver a service you asked for, and the last is a preference you set yourself. Consent analysis for the preference cookies — for counsel
03
During an interview
If you are a candidate, the interview page needs your microphone and asks your browser for permission. It does not ask for your camera — there is no video in a Kira interview.
The one cookie the interview sets is the re-entry key described above. It exists so that a dropped connection does not cost you your interview. Deleting it means you would need your invitation link again.
What happens to the recording itself is a separate question, and it is answered at /legal/candidate-privacy.
04
Controlling cookies
Every browser lets you see the cookies a site has set and delete them, usually under privacy or site settings. You can block them entirely.
Blocking cookies on this website changes nothing, because there are none. Blocking them on the application means you cannot stay signed in, and a candidate who blocks them cannot rejoin an interrupted interview.
05
Changes and contact
If we ever add something that sets a cookie, this page changes first and, where consent is required, we will ask for it before anything is set.
